Business Unit Components takes care of indirect crane component business to distributors and independent crane builders. The unit covers multiple product portfolios each carrying its own brand name. These brands are SWF, R&M, Verlinde, Donati and the indirect business of Demag. An important and unique part of Demag´s portfolio is Demag Drives business. This is the umbrella for drive technology including development, production and sales of drive system and components. Drives solutions are a key strength in Demag offering where the product portfolio consists of wheel blocks, motors, gears, inverters and controls which together make a Drives solution.

Now we are looking for a Sales Manager/Director (depending on the candidate´s competence and experience) to South-East Asia to establish and develop Demag Drives business. To enter the market within SEAP we are now looking for a pro-active sales person who has the capability to develop business further. The role can be based in Thailand or Indonesia but will look over a bigger portion of countries (Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines and possibly Australia). This person will work closely with the local sales organisation but will report to Business Director based in Europe.


Main responsibilities:

Our target is to find new business opportunities and grow and to establish business also into SEAP-region. For the further success of the business, we want to further identify possibilities and explore new niche-areas. The business has significant volume and is of strategic importance for the company.

  • Be responsible for establishing Drives sales in the countries,
  • Be responsible for establishing customer network for indirect business (OEM´s and dealer/distributors),
  • Be responsible for making Drives product portfolio known in the area,
  • Actively visit potential customers and identify leads,
  • Do sales reporting,
  • Develop business and maintain the business in the countries.

What we expect from you:

  • Excellent English language skills (both written and spoken) are mandatory, Thai or Indonesian or other Asian language can be considered as a plus.
  • As a person you are proactive, own excellent communication skills, are open-minded and have a curious mindset towards new topics.
  • From background you are familiar of setting up new business and sales. You will have the possibility to establish and develop business and in order to succeed you will have to be a good problem solver and have a bit of innovative mindset in order to bring your own ideas to the table.
  • You will also need excellent people skills and persistency to find out new potential customers.
  • You can already be familiar to Demag Drives product portfolio or be trained further to this.
  • This role requires travelling.
