Service Technician - WTE South

The growing Waste to Energy (WtE) market is one of our key industries for future company growth. To support this planned growth, we are looking to recruit a Service Technician to join our Waste to Energy team here in the UK. This role is based in the south of the UK, so a willingness to travel and be able to stay away from home regularly is required.  

 

You'll report to the Operations Manager. 

  

The Role:  

 

As a WtE Service Technician, you'll support the installation and commissioning to handover of Waste to Energy, SMARTON and Electric Overhead Travelling Cranes. In addition, you offer training and technical support of local branch technicians and assist in the updating of WtE PLC/ Automation and inverter technology with Finland/East Kilbride WtE design team. 

  

Key Responsibilities:  

 

  • National support to ICS in the set up and commissioning of new Waste to Energy cranes and Smart 

  • cranes and compilation and verification of final test and commissioning supporting data 

  • Monitoring following handover to support customer operations 

  • Technical support for the local branch Service Technicians 

  • Training and competence review of the local branch Service Technicians 

  • Liaise with the WtE customers and other National WtE Specialists 

  • Liaise with WtE Service Manager regarding the WtE customers nationwide 

  • Keeping up to date with any key WtE PLC/automation and inverter product changes and GTS  

  • Lead Tech on any major modification/ modernisation the WtE cranes nationwide 

  

What we require of you:  

 

  • Experience and knowledge of overhead cranes 

  • Electrically qualified – minimum of Level 3 

  • Prepared to undertake training in UK/Finland 

  • Willingness to regularly travel throughout the south of the UK. 

  • Work additional overtime hours when necessary. 

  • Mechanical understanding / Fabrication skills 

  • Understanding of process inverters and Siemens Simatic Manager 

  • Safety conscious
