Inside Sales - New Business Development

We have an exciting opportunity at Konecranes with the newly created role of New Business Development Specialist to join our Inside Sales Team based at our UK Head Office in Ashby de-la-Zouch, Leicestershire.

The UK Inside Sales Team is widely regarded in the EMEA region as the benchmark for performance, and our intention for 2022 is to build on our success as a high performing sales team with the addition of a New Business Development Specialist.

The role will be responsible for pro-actively contacting both prospective and existing customers to discuss our products and services, to qualify sales opportunities and to arrange appointments for our external sales team.

Your main responsibilities will include:


  • Regular consultation with our customers
  • Contacting our customer base by telephone/email to promote the benefits of our service agreement/service products
  • Making qualified appointments for our external Agreement Sales Managers
  • Revisiting lapsed or cancelled service contracts to discuss service agreements and to make an appointment for an Agreement Sales Manager
  • Utilising our CRM to document conversations and agree our next steps.
  • This role will have the responsibility for meeting assigned sales targets
  • Management of the Sales Funnel through use of our CRM ensuring sales cases are up to date, at the correct stage and contain accurate information.
  • Follow up of quotations to secure a purchase order.
  • Contacting customers to discuss Service Agreement Renewal and to secure a purchase order for the Service Agreement.
  • Participation in pro-active sales campaigns and service product promotion
  • Identifying opportunities in consultation with our customers and assigning sales leads to correct sales resources.
  • Utilising our online chat function to answer incoming customer enquiries


What we are looking for in you:


  • A minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C/5 or above, including Maths and English
  • Customer Service/Sales Experience, (internal or external)
  • Confident telephone manner
  • Great customer relationship building skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Use of CRM or similar advantageous, but not essential
