Project Technician

We are recruiting a Project Technician to join the team on a full time, permanent basis based in the south of the UK. 

 

The role of Project Technician works within the Projects team - Modernisations and Installations, and coordinates the activities, resources and tasks that relate to a specific project and ensures jobs costs are kept within quoted parameters and provides progress reports to Project Manager.

 

The role is based in the south of the UK and will require the successful candidate to be willing to travel and stay overnight as and when the project requires this (accommodation and subsistence will be provided).

 

This role would ideally suit an electrically or mechanically qualified engineer, who is looking to further their career within a project environment.

 

You will report to the Project Manager.

 

You will:

  • Deliver site-based projects in a hands-on capacity.
  • Conduct project related tasks independently and support the Project Manager in daily tasks and takes responsibility in their absence.
  • Lead sub-projects under supervision of the Project Manager.
  • Assist in the preparation of Safety Documentation (SSOW, SSA, RAMS, Lift Planning) Training to be provided as required.
  • Ensure the site team has all necessary resources to enable the project to be carried out successfully.
  • Meet with the project team (Technicians & Field Supervisors), ensuring that each team member understands their responsibilities and accountabilities.
  • Manage vendor relationships, relaying information between the project management and client.
  • Coordinate queries and escalates points of concern to appropriate stakeholders, monitoring resolution and updating all involved.
  • Development and innovation: Carry out day-to-day project coordination activities, analyse and improve current ways of working using where possible.
      

 What we are looking for from you:
 

Education/Experience:

 

  • Electrically or mechanically qualified
  • Involvement in engineering projects
  • IOSH qualified (preferred)
  • Must be willing and able to travel (sometime stay overnight) throughout the south of the UK when required.
  • IT skills such as MS Office
  • Ability to work independently and adapt if problems occur.
