About the Role
We are currently recruiting for an electro-mechanical UK Support Technician for our brand-new UK Technician Support Team. This role requires UK-wide coverage, offering hands-on work across a wide variety of projects, including crane installations, commissioning, modernisations, crane reliability surveys, and troubleshooting. Additionally, you will provide maintenance and repair support across the UK as needed, assisting district operations with technician support on an “ad-hoc” short-term basis.
As a UK Support Technician, you will also collaborate closely with Technical Specialists, Consultation Service and Engineering Teams, providing substantial learning and growth opportunities through direct, in-the-field experience on complex projects.
In this role, you’ll have access to state-of-the-art equipment such as 3D scanners, rail and rope monitoring systems, and advanced diagnostic tools. You’ll gain experience working with complex crane systems, including PLC-controlled cranes and other cutting-edge technologies.
Key Details
- Location: UK-Wide – This role involves extensive travel across the UK and Ireland, with regular periods away from home. Flexibility and a willingness to work away from home are essential for success in this position.
- Reporting To: Operations Manager – Technical Specialists & Support Teams
- Contract: Full-time, 39-hour week, Monday to Friday (day shifts)
- Opportunities for: Paid overtime and travel time
Responsibilities
In this versatile UK-Wide role, you will:
- Assist with installations, commissioning, and equipment modernisations.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues efficiently and accurately.
- Work hand in hand with the Technical Specialist and Consultation Service Teams on a variety of work.
- Collaborate with district technicians to support local goals like monthly maintenance compliance and improving customer equipment reliability.
- Develop your learning and understanding of complex crane systems, installation methods and become proficient with the more advanced tools available to our specialist teams.
- Complete documentation through a mobile device for seamless communication and record-keeping.
About You
We’re looking for individuals who:
- Have completed an apprenticeship (or equivalent) and are skilled in either electrical or mechanical engineering.
- Have experience in the maintenance and repair of cranes or industrial equipment.
- Value and practice health and safety awareness.
- Are adaptable, personable, and ready to work in various environments with direct customer interaction.
- Hold a valid UK driving licence and are comfortable with travel and time away from home.
