Senior Accountant




A college degree/diploma in Accounting and working towards a CPA/CMA designation is required, with 3 to 5-year work experience. Must have excellent interpersonal skills, be well organized, prioritize and capable of handling a busy workload with multiple tasks, and work with minimal supervision. Competent skills in Microsoft Office, especially in Excel, are required. Experience with SAP is preferable.


This position reports to the Financial Controller of the Statutory Company and supports the requirements of all divisions (Service, Parts, Industrial Cranes, and Head Office) within the Company. As an active team member and participant in the Finance department, this role will assist the Financial Controller in the compilation of Financial Reports and the maintenance of the General Ledger within the Konecranes timetable, while securing adequate overall internal controls of the company, to prevent fraud against the company’s cash and assets.




  1. Preparation and processing of Journal entries;
  2. Reconciliation of all Balance Sheet Accounts;
  3. Maintenance of Fixed Asset Schedules;
  4. Processing intercompany cost recovery AP invoices
  5. Manage the Inter-company quarterly AR and AP confirmation process
  6. Assist with the managerial reporting:
    1. Data input of various reports;
    2. Preparation of working papers;
  7. Point of contact with our Financial Shared Service Center (FSSC) to ensure and monitor the quality of data it produces.
  8. Review and maintain company disbursement processes, currency hedging, banking processes while adhering to our internal controls.
  9. Manage and reconcile Petty Cash for the Burlington Office Building;
  10. Main contact for all Federal and Provincial Tax audits
  11. Main contact for all Internal Control Audits
  12. Assist with the compilations of annual returns:
    1. Corporate Tax Returns
    2. Transfer Pricing studies
  13. Preparing mandatory Government reports; Statistics Canada Reports and other Government reports as needed.




  1. Assist and support other processes within the Finance group with Accounts Payable, Cash Application;
  2. Various other duties and special projects as assigned;
