As a truly global company it’s hard to believe we don’t have an established presence in Ireland, but with our ambition set high, this will soon become a reality as we are setting up an office to the west of Dublin! To help us shape our ambition, we are looking for a Service Manager to join the Konecranes family. Initially leading a small team of Service Technicians and with the full support of an experienced team in Europe, part of the role will be to develop the business across a wide range of industries, with this in mind we are looking for a Service Manager who can be hands on, as well as commercially and customer focused.

The role of Service Manager is within the business area of Industrial Service, offering service solutions and maintenance for all crane brands, for port equipment and machine tools including the repair, maintenance and service of our customers’ lifting equipment, service inspection contracts, refurbishment and modernisation projects, installation, testing and certification of overhead cranes and hoists. You might be interested to learn that we are the original service provider for both Konecranes and Demag equipment.

 

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the team of Service Technicians through performance and development
  • Promotion and development of a H&S culture within the branch and workplace
  • Maximising service orders through the selling sale of service contracts, spare parts and components.
  • Ensuring an efficient response to customer enquiries and orders to maximise satisfaction.
  • Project management of all regional activities.
  • Budget management, analysis and reporting, this includes achieving financial targets
  • Liaison with relevant internal departments to maximise effectiveness and profitability of the region.

 

What we are looking for in you:

  • Educated to degree level in Engineering or equivalent.
  • NEBOSH qualification or equivalent.
  • LEEA Part 1 qualification or equivalent.
  • Ideally, good technical and practical knowledge of a broad range of cranes and related components.
  • Experience of the Risk Assessment/Method Statement management.
  • Knowledge and experience of managing safety whilst working at height.
  • Demonstrable experience of the maintenance service business/ crane industry/electrical knowledge
  • Basic financial and business understanding is also beneficial.
  • Hold a current driving licence
  • Prepared to travel regularly
