POSITION DESCRIPTION

 

Purpose of Position

 

Provide engineering service within the boundaries of qualifications and competence as required to

support the business.

 

Accountabilities and Responsibilities

 

  • Carry out site inspections and reporting as per Australian Standards and Konecranes and Demag Consultation Services.
  • Carry out engineering design calculations or assessments as required.
  • Carry out engineering site assessments and reporting as per Australian Standards and Konecranes and Demag Consultation Services Guidelines.
  • Create reports within clearly defined parameters and standards under general direction.
  • Coordinate complex engineering reports entailing technical specifications and detailed planning, recommending changes to specification or design engineering policy as appropriate.
  • Provide Engineering expertise to support the Consultation Services Group in the business.
  • Certification of cranes and other equipment as required as part of the Consultation Services process.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the requirements of AS2550.1 for Major Inspection and Assessments are complied to at all times.
  • Work as directed by the Consultation Services Manager.
  • Utilise the CRM to create sales cases for identified opportunities.
  • Input hours into tracker based on time spent on inspections/reporting.
  • Awareness of ISO 14001 & 45001 Standards

Working Relationships

 

  • Reporting directly to the Consultation Services Managers.
  • Work closely with Konecranes and Demag Inspectors on customer sites.
  • Liaise with and support our Service Branches as required.
  • Work closely with the sales team to identify opportunities arising from reporting , deliver additional reports as requested to the Consultation Services Manager.

 

Work Related requirements

  • Learn and understand the Konecranes and Demag product range/ offerings available for the market.
  • Be a key user for various 1KC tools.
  • Ensure that the Konecranes and Demag brand is communicated consistently and in accordance with the Company’s values and brand principles.
  • Ensure that Konecranes and Demag Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality processes are.

followed including to:

 take reasonable care for your own health and safety; and take reasonable care that your acts or omissions do not adversely affect the health and safety of other persons; and comply, so far as the worker is reasonably able, with any reasonable instruction that is given by the business to allow for compliance with WHS laws; and co-operate with any reasonable policy or procedure of the business relating to health or safety at the workplace that has been notified to employees.

 

  1. Do not discharge hazardous substances into stormwater drains or waterways.
  2. Engage in proper substance (batteries, printer cartridges, e-waste) disposal methods and recycling and never illegal dumping waste.
  3. Do not kill, harm, or injure protected wildlife in the course of work.
  4. In the event that the spill or leak occurs, take reasonable steps to contain it if safe to do so and report the event to your HSE Representative.
  5. Make all reasonable efforts to conserve energy and prevent emissions at the workplace.
  6. Report all incidents (Health, Safety or Environmental) or Observations via ARMOR.
  7. Participate in HSE Consultation sessions (Toolbox Talks).
  8. Respect for Heights and Elevated Work Platform (EWP).

 

  • Actively promote Safety within the team.
  • Ensure that the Konecranes and Demag Service Handbook is communicated and followed.
  • Actively engage in training programs, both nationally and internationally as required.
  • Build a networking relationship within the Industrial Equipment and Industrial Service departments.
  • Proactively engage with employees promoting Konecranes and Demag as an employer of choice

 

Specialised requirements –

Qualifications/licences:

  • Must be a professional member of Engineers Australia.
  • Must be degree qualified in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • High competency with computer programs such as MS Office products and AutoCad.
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s license.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Detailed understanding of relevant Australian Standards.
  • Crane design knowledge is an advantage.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
