Service Technician - Ports

Here at Konecranes we have 3 business areas, one of which is Port Solutions, focusing on lifting equipment and automation solutions within a port environment, equipment includes, cranes straddle carriers and lift trucks to name but a few. To continue to support our customers needs we are recruiting 2 X Port Engineers/Service Technicians to carry out the maintenance and repair of this equipment, with all of our customers being coastal, being willing to travel is a key requirement for this role as well as being electrically-biased. This role can also offer the opportunity to work overseas, but this is not expected.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Service, repair, installation, commissioning, inspection, and testing of Port Solution products, such as harbour cranes and straddle carriers
  • Trouble- shooting equipment malfunctions
  • Consulting with customers on repair and safety related issues
  • Accurate and descriptive problem reporting
  • Completion of inspection and examination documentation as appropriate

 What we are looking for in you:

  • Electrically biased with a good basic understanding of mechanics and ideally hydraulics
  • Proven track record performing preventive maintenance and repairs to machinery
  • Experience of Siemens S7 preferred
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Be organised and self-motivated person.
  • Computer Literate
  • Proven competency to install, inspect, and maintain lifting equipment in accordance with relevant operating/installation instructions and the requirements of the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER).
  • UK driver’s licence
  • Ability to work at height
  • Able to spend periods of time away from home
