POSITION TITLE:  Port Parts Sales Manager


REPORTS TO: Sales Director




  • Manage the profitable growth of the geographical area through customer contact while working in conjunction with the Parts Sales personnel.
  • Focus on growth through Sales strategies (Pricing, stock levels, customer inventory inspections, etc.)
  • Deliver our customers with the best experience possible while meeting and exceeding established goals. This position reports to the Regional Sales Manager
  • Assist the sales team to ensure that team members meet or exceed sales activity goals in all service market areas on new account development.
  • Through market research, industry expertise and analysis develop creative and cost effective solutions for customer needs while maintaining market area profit margin objectives.
  • Manage all port accounts and increase existing account revenue by assigned goals. Oversee, collect and report on Key Account (Top 10) via activity reports, including business reviews and report to General Manager on a quarterly basis.
  • Meet at a minimum twice per year will all port customers, and quarterly with the top 10 customers.
  • Maintain surveillance over Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) such as punctuality on quotes and deliveries, response time and Contribution Margins
  • Establish and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction, meeting regularly with customer executives to retain account and ensure customer needs are being met and expectations exceeded. Investigate cancellation requests from customers and develop action plans for recovery.
  • Responsible for ensuring the quotation levels are sufficient to obtain the required minimum on a monthly basis as well as monthly forecasting of orders and sales. Generate sales required to meet the budgeted sales.

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree with major relevance to the position’s purpose is preferred however, prior equivalent experience and training will be considered in lieu of formal degree.

EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years’ experience as a Manager in service related sales or operations preferred however equivalent experience, education and training will be considered.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must have demonstrated leadership experience, well- developed interpersonal skills, a basic understanding of mechanical and electrical principles, good written and verbal communication skills, and intermediate computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office products . Prior experience with cranes is a plus. Must have and maintain a good driving record. Must be willing and able to travel to different locations 60% of the time within North America, some light international travel will be required.
