U.S. Job Description for Ms. Nadezhda Shapar


Job Title: Woodyard Crane Manufacturing Subcontractor Supervisor



As a recognized Subject Matter Expert in the fabrication of the Konecranes Woodyard Cranes, Ms. Shapar will be working daily with various USA subcontractors to ensure the Woodyard Cranes are fabricated in accordance with all design specifications, Quality requirements, and Customer specifications. The below list of tasks is representative of the work to performed but does not include everything.


  • Maintain regular On-Site presence at each Subcontractor, including a published schedule of planned rotation between Subcontractor sites
  • Identify critical fabrication points when additional support will be required to cover all Subcontractor sites
  • Provide guidance to ensure Subcontractors understands fabrication drawings created with European standards and symbols as well as support when fabrication drawings are ambiguous
  • Share knowledge of fabrication processes and procedures to ensure all Engineering specifications and Quality requirements will be met
  • Provide suggestions / support to Subcontractors for Shop Scheduling to ensure all fabrication work is completed within the Project Schedule
  • Work closely with Subcontractor to design / install specialized fabrication jigs and fixtures required for welding various components
  • Perform regular inspections to ensure all parts meet Quality requirements and if out of tolerance assist with a mitigation plan to correct
  • Guide Subcontractor during the ‘control assembly’ process (including documentation) to ensure that each assembly meets required engineering tolerances and project Quality requirements
  • Maintain Open Issues log to document items resolved and items to be resolved
  • Regular manufacturing progress reporting and escalations on any issues identified regarding Subcontractor safety practices, product Quality, or project schedule to Project Manager
