Technologies function at Konecranes is responsible for core lifting components, control systems and related software, that create innovative concepts and product designs, which are completed with digital solutions to make our products and services smarter. Technologies provides also IT services, that we use to run our harmonized and integrated business processes. The expertise of our people is wide ranging from IPR and Innovation Management, through Research, Development, Design, Analytics and Procurement, to IT Service Management.
Core Technology organisation within Technologies function develops and supports technology solutions for all three Business Areas of Konecranes: Port Solutions, Industrial Equipment and Service. Our peoples' expertise covers Automation, Human-Machine-Interfaces, Embedded Electronics, Motor controls, Inverter technologies and Asset Intelligence development, where analytics and connectivity meet sensor- and control technology.


Core Technology organisation is now looking for a Chief Development Engineer who will take responsibility for delivering embedded system software to product development department. In this role you would be part of our software engineering team that develops and maintains a broad scope of monitoring and controlling devices linked to our assets.


Your key responsibilities:

  • Detailed design and specification embedded system software based on high level requirements.
  • Coding
  • Control SW quality as it is defined in ISO/IEC 25010:2011
  • Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions.
  • Test design (unit testing, SW integration testing, HW/SW integration testing and system testing)

What should you bring?

To succeed in this role, it's important that you have previous work experience from software development as well as competence in:

  • C, C++ programming languages
  • Python, in particular in test automation and scripting
  • Agile development methods

In addition, we expect that you have a degree in Electronics, Electrics, Information Technology or other relevant major.

It's also vital that you have strong teamwork skills and you are fluent in both spoken and written English. Other language skills are a benefit.
