Financial Controller

We are looking for a Financial Controller to strengthen the Group Accounting team that is responsible for Konecranes accounting principles, Group consolidations and external published financial statements. You’ll play a key role in quarterly and annual reporting, implementation of future accounting standards within Konecranes Group as well as systems development. When needed, you’ll support Konecranes’ finance organization in questions related to accounting principles and tools.

 

Financial Controller will report to Vice President, Group Accounting.

Your key responsibilities:

 

  • Participate in Group’s monthly / quarterly / annual closing of the books according to IFRS standards.
  • Contribute to external reporting process, instructions, guidelines, interpretation of IFRS standards, reporting templates as well as training and consulting the controller community for these topics.
  • Develop and maintain Group reporting system together with system development team.
  • Prepare acquisition accounting and as needed, co-operate with service providers in larger acquisitions.
  • Analyse differences between management and financial accounting.
  • Reconcile and assure figures reported by the controllers for quality and completeness.
  • Prepare ESEF filings.
  • Co-operate with the business and financial controllers as well as Global Process Owners for finance.
  • Liaise with tax, treasury, and other corporate functions to ensure accurate reporting in published financials.

What should you bring?

 

  • University degree in Financial Accounting.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience of group accounting and consolidations in an international company or in an auditing firm.
  • Good knowledge of IFRS.
  • Persuasive communication skills, fluency in both written and spoken English and Finnish, as well as willingness to provide training to the finance community is also an important part of the role.
  • Hands-on attitude, proactive way of working and capability to work independently.
  • Ability to work in a cross functional and multinational team. 
  • Ability to understand different processes and systems together with a continuous improvement approach and mindset.
  • Knowledge of SAP and / or OneStream is an advantage.

 

This role is hybrid remote and based in Hyvinkää or Espoo, Finland. The role requires occasional internation business travel.
