Manager, Logistics

The Manager Logistics will be responsible for overseeing and managing the daily operations of the logistics department within Business Unit Port Cranes and Business Unit Solutions. This position will focus on developing and optimizing logistics management including commercial agreements to ensure timely and cost efficient delivery to customers, as well as aligning with BU Port Cranes’ and BU Solutions’ strategic goals.

 

The Logistics department manages the entire material carriage within BU Port Cranes and BU Solutions including containerized “volume” transportations as well as heavy shipments of Full Erected cranes and Break Bulks. In this leadership role, you will drive development in the Logistics team for cost and operational efficiency. Your team will have tactical responsibility for the development and implementation of policies, procedures and KPIs supporting on reaching BUs’ strategic objectives. The team plays vital role in the success of BUs’ Delivery Project execution demanding close collaboration with other stakeholders.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the logistic team in the execution of transportation activities
  • Collaborate with Production Coordination, Procurement, Project Management and other stakeholders to optimize logistics with supply chain needs
  • Work closely with production planning to synchronize logistics with production schedules
  • With your team, drive the negotiations with shipping companies, transporters, and logistics service providers to ensure proper and favorable contract coverage
  • “Productize” the heavy shipment arrangements to secure repeated success
  • Enhance and secure the processes to ensure efficient execution and collaboration with required stakeholders
  • Oversee the heavy transportation activities, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards
  • Define and implement comprehensive KPIs to support continuous process and operations development
  • Support team development and performance through coaching and performance management
  • Responsible for the department's contribution to the business units' P&L through effective cost management

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management , or a related field
  • Proven experience in logistics management and familiarity with Maritime contracts within a complex, project-driven business setting
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage a diverse workforce
  • Robust analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent negotiation and communication abilities
  • Willingness to travel as required for business needs

The position holder is part of the BU Port Cranes Supply organization and reports to Director, Supply, BU Port Cranes. Due to the global scope of the position international business travel is required.
