Konecranes Information Technology organization develops innovative IT services that help to transform data into knowledge. IT provides services to enable secure, reliable and productive operations around the clock. The service portfolio is wide ranging from IT services provided to enable Konecranes business processes all the way to the business intelligence and analytics identifying new business opportunities.

 

We are looking for a Platform Manager, Product to join our Product Development & Supply cluster to lead Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Product Design Tool (PDT) unit. In this role you will have the overall accountability of the Konecranes PLM and PDT platforms ensuring that the IT services are delivered cost efficiently, in accordance with agreed business requirements and in co-operation with SMO and IT operations. As our Platform Manager you will be a line manager and have responsibility for the development and wellbeing of the people in your team. You will work closely with IT Cluster Head, Tribe Leads, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Chapter Leads, SMO, suppliers and technology partners.

 

Your key responsibilities
• Managing the IT team of Konecranes PLM and Product Design Tool platforms (line manager duties)
• In charge of platform team's skills and competencies
• Technology contracting, supporting with selection and management in the area
• Managing people (internal/external) and other resources for platform operations
• End User satisfaction platform performance
• Platform lifecycle management (managing run), consistency and license management
• Technical Platform development (except business development)
• Non-feature related road mapping: ramp down of services, version upgrades, patches
• Practises and toolchain for platform, including testing approach
• Quality approval for feature release & deployment process
• Release and deployment management
• Security management
• Budgeting cost control and cost efficiency of the platform
• Supplier contracting selection and management in the area
• Communication service interruptions, maintenance breaks
• Technical and compliance documentation
• Support arrangements for the platform (e.g. 3 level support coordination, managing and taking onwards the major incident process and its hands-on practicalities. SLA)
• Participation in and commitment to the quarterly planning process (resource and technology needs)
• Contributing to the Way of Working practices and IT process development in Konecranes

What should you bring
• MSc or BSc in business or engineering or equivalent
• Willingness and capability to lead people, advanced people skills (communication, collaboration, sharing of knowledge/expertise, coaching, resolving conflicts)
• Background from relevant technology/area of expertise related PLM and Design Tools
• Minimum 5 years experience in Platform development and knowledge of IT technologies
• Experience with managing Agile Development and Testing
• Experience with vendor management and strong negotiations skills
• Good understanding of Information Security topics, IT Archetecture and also IT processes
• Solution focused problem solving and analysis ability
• Knowledge of IT Service Operations & Processes including ITIL
• Interest towards new Technologies and Methodologies
• Good knowledge of maintenance practices
• Fluency in English
• Customer and service mindset
