Our Machine Data Platform team is now looking for an Operations Engineer to join our group of IoT specialists.  Operations Engineer is someone who will work together with specialists and software developers to maintain Konecranes digital services, which will enable our end customers to run their operations safely, environmentally friendly and with high productivity. You will also work closely with our systems engineers and Global Technical Support, helping them keep our machines running with high uptime and availability. We will train you to be able to take responsibility in making sure our services and operations run smoothly.


Your key tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Providing support for our internal customers on crane and lifting equipment remote connections, data collection and diagnostics tools
  • Administration, development and monitoring of servers and systems
  • Development of technical instructions and documentation
  • Coordination of with systems engineers on crane deliveries and on-site install base

We at Konecranes Technologies organization are responsible for common core lifting components and concepts used in product designs, digital solutions that make our products smarter, and IT services that we use to run our harmonized and integrated business processes. The Machine Data Platform is part of the larger Digital Platform Development unit, responsible for the development and delivery of Konecranes Industrial Internet Platform as well as Digital solutions that serve both our customers and business processes. Konecranes Industrial Internet connects, gathers, analyses and presents data from Konecranes built equipment and from the global field service IT system. Our Digital solutions include a multitude of web and mobile applications all built on latest software engineering solutions and address the key needs of our customers and businesses.

What you should bring:
To succeed in this position, you are expected to have:

  • Experience with industrial computer systems, Windows and/or Linux servers and/or embedded systems
  • Computer networking and/or telecommunications skills
  • Knowledge of diagnostics and/or testing systems
  • Electronics expertise
  • Suitable education or degree
  • Willingness to learn

If you also have some of the following skills or expertise in your pocket and you could bring some extra value to the team with them, please let us know what experience you have with:

  • Automation systems, such as Step7 and TIA Portal
  • An incident management system
  • Bash scripting
  • Cybersecurity and certifications
