Konecranes Business Unit Port Services is looking for a Business Controller Italy.


Purpose of the role

Is responsible of the decision making in financial matters of Port Services Italy

To act in a key role in Country Area management team to ensure finance (business control and analysis) related issues are being considered in local decision making

To support local line management team’s decision making with analysis and reporting

Is responsible of management accounting and reporting within the Group’s framework timely and with good quality

  • Growth and profitability of the BU Port Services together with efficient capital management
  • Cost efficiency and quality of the Business Control organization
  • Effective decision making support for business management
  • Standardized reporting within BU Port Services
  • Reporting accuracy, quality, reliability and speed
  • Relevance of financial analysis in the development projects, investment projects etc.
  • Training of the business controlling issues
  • Important role in taking group IT tools into use


In this role you have both individual and shared accountabilities.


Individual main accountabilities

Responsible for annual planning and quarterly forecasting activities of Port Services Italy in close coordination with the business management. All relevant drivers need to be estimated and monitored with the respective business owner.

Regular analysis of KPIs and NWC values. Ensure that calculations and results are properly and if needed to guide Financial accounting.

Monthly determination and upload of order intake, sales, orderbook and agreement base values for RUSH reporting, followed by full income statement and NWC for Operative Reporting.

Investigation and analysis of variances between actual-, previous year- and forecasted numbers.

Preparation or creation of reports for management purposes on regular base or ad-hoc. This can also include reports for external authorities, the annual report or workers council meetings.

Management of Accounts Receivables, including credit limit checks, approvals and collections.

Invest request checks and administration of Capex templates

Active role in business related Internal Controls and support of Financial accounting during internal / external audits.


Shared Accountabilities

To secure that the company has its own risk control methods and routines in line with the Group policies.

To assure that the company’s employees at all levels are aware of the Group’s policies, instructions and guidelines in financial, legal and IT matters

To inform the Group immediately in the event of any piece of information indicating a potential or an actual injury to the Company.


Experience required for the position

  • Graduation in economics required with minimum 2-year experience in demanding financial- or business controlling tasks
  • SAP ERP and HFM reporting system experience preferred
  • Willingness to travel
  • Excellent knowledge of the English language
