The Mechanical Assembler is responsible for assembly of new product including, but not limited to gearcases, wheels, bottom blocks and also for disassembly and cleaning / reassembling customer supplied rebuilds. This position requires attention to detail and the ability to produce a quality product in a timely fashion. The mechanical assembler is responsible to for watching due dates on orders and for following the routings that are given.
The ability to troubleshoot mechanical assemblies is required. The mechanical assembler is responsible for working with the lead person, supervisor, and possibly the engineering dept. when issues arise. Assist in all assigned aspects of the business that are mechanical in nature.
- Assemble or gather all components and subassemblies per the order.
- Work with Engineering Department when needed.
- Perform Crane / Fork truck inspection prior to use.
- Follow assembly schedule to ensure jobs are built in the proper order.
- Disassemble customer supplied assemblies for potential rebuilds.
EXPERIENCE:
- Able to read and understand blueprints. Be computer literate and have good communication skills. Some mechanical assembly preferred.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime and or weekends if needed. Be able to supply your own standard tools.
- Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs., be capable of doing some pounding and have the ability to operate power tools.
