Consultant - SAP Basis

Your key responsibilities:

  • Exhibit Konecranes Core values and code of conduct into each action
  • Handle (providing resolutions) Incidents and Service Requests via SNOW based
  • Technical analysis of all the unknown/ new types of Incidents and Service Requests and assist the functional SAP Team members for diagnosis
  • Participate into Critical/Major Incident resolution and communication process
  • Analyze the repetitive Incidents and addressing the root causes in order to either reduce/ eliminate repetitive Incidents or enhance efficiency in handling those
  • Develop healthy professional customer relationship
  • Ensure the KPIs like SLA, TAT, Ageing, Quality Audits, etc. based on management’s expectations and guidance
  • Align and realign actions based on customers’ feedbacks, inputs from management or Core team
  • Prepare reports based on supervisor’s expectations
  • Assist peers, superiors, other IT staff members in day to day activities whenever appropriate
  • Deliver any other tasks as per superior’s instructions and guidance


What we expect from you:

  • UG - Diploma or B.Tech. /B.E.
  • Good Technical background with Professional experience desirable
  • Work experience: 3 - 4 yrs.
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with a globally-distributed team
  • Team player

3-4 years of experience in SAP Basis with SAP ECC, preferably with exposure to HANA and Oracle database.


SAP Support & maintenance 

  • Daily monitoring of all SAP systems (e.g. work processes, users, system logs, short dumps, locks, developer traces, system traces, disk space, profile parameter maintenance etc.)
  • Analyzing system Performance and adjusting various tuning parameters to maintain optimum utilization including application server load balancing, operation modes, background jobs management.
  • Coordinate with SAP service support, refer installation guideline, create messages, creating and opening connections, generating license keys, developer keys etc.
  • Transport Management System (TMS), Client Administration including client creation, local client copy, remote client copy, client export/import.
  • Maintain the multiple SAP instances that comprise the SAP environment.
  • Maintain the integrity of the SAP environment by managing the SAP Correction and Transport System (CTS) to ensure all configuration and development objects are promoted properly.
  • SAP Solution Manager Change Request Management functionality (ChaRM) from basis point of view and cCTS, Solution Manager configurations are seen as big advantage.
  • Introduce technical changes into the environment using a structured approach that minimizes risk and achieves high reliability, availability and performance of each SAP instance.
  • Design and implement an optimal SAP configuration to maximize system performance and availability.
  • Knowledge of Kernel upgrade, Support Pack Stack Upgrade, STMS configuration, Database patching for SAP NetWeaver Platform is desirable.
  • Create, change and modify security roles as per business requirement and for new functionality introduced.
  • Configure and manage the SAP printing subsystem for all SAP instances.
  • Maintain SAP application performance by planning and executing tuning strategies.
  • Perform SAP maintenance (support packages and kernel upgrades) through all systems using a structured methodology.
  • SAP Solution Manager experience is required.
  • SAP HANA experience considered as advantage.
  • Exposure to Release Management will be an added advantage.
  • Analytical and problem-solving techniques.
  • Customer service attitude.
  • Communication skills – Verbal, Written with teams in Finland and Germany.
  • Align with different support teams to ensure seamless support experience for the business users


Database administration 

  • Database monitoring
  • Maintain database security
  • Administer database performance
  • Database problem determination and resolution


Unix / Linux administration 

  • General System Administration understanding
  • Knowledge about the Linux system files, boot process and Run levels
  • Should know how to troubleshoot memory issues


Basic knowledge of German language will be helpful but is not mandatory.
