National Service and Sales Manager

A new and exciting opportunity now exists for a highly successful Service and Sales professional to join the Ports Solutions team for Konecranes and Demag as the National Service and Sales Manager, Australia.

Based in either Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane and reporting to the Regional Sales and Service Director Oceania, this role will see you responsible for managing the overall Service and Sales operations for Port Solution in Australian to ensure profitability and growth. You will be also be responsible for managing the Port Service front-line operation as well as developing and effectively delivering the Port Service Solutions to new and existing customers.

 

The Role

  • Establish and build on local talent to develop the Port Service Frontline operations within Australia
  • Drive and deliver global strategies and implement local action plans to meet those strategies
  • Identify, develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing local customers
  • Implement and develop the Port Service portfolio across the country.
  • Grow and maintain the long term service and maintenance agreements as well as the establishment of a Spare Parts business
  • Maintain full responsibility for the P&L for the country and ensure compliance with reporting and internal control requirements
  • Lead and develop the local Port Service and Solutions team and ensure their continuous growth, development and technical competency
  • Comply to and ensure safety requirement and standards are meet
  • Establish strong relationships with new and existing customers by demonstrating strong technical/ product knowledge of Konecranes Port Solutions new equipment
  • Actively identify new customers who could benefit from the Konecranes Port Solutions equipment across the region.
  • Consult, support and partner with customers to help achieve operational improvements, including the introduction or development of Automation options.

 

The Candidate

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering/Business Management or a related area
  • Demonstrated technical competence in Terminal Operations / Port equipment highly desirable
  • Minimum 5 years’ industrial experience as a manager in a related sales or operations role
  • Advanced commercial and financial acumen with the ability to analyse quantitative and qualitative data
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work with computer programs and software applications as applicable to the role.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate and engage a diverse workforce.
  • Ability and willingness to travel within Australia.
