JOB DESCRIPTION : CTO Commissioning Specialist

Qualifications:

 A high school diploma and a certified electrician with related industrial experience; a diploma or degree in an electrical related field is an asset, but not required. Must have prior experience with industrial electrical equipment. Must have excellent technical and troubleshooting skills, ability to read electrical drawings, be well organized, have excellent interpersonal skills, and be capable of handling a busy workload with multiple tasks. Travel throughout Canada and the US is required. Must have a valid driver’s license with good record. Must be able to attain all required site safety certificates.


CTO Commissioning Specialist is responsible to provide technical and on-site support for start-up and commissioning activities of Configure to Order (CTO) cranes in North America. They are required to provide hands-on assistance to crane installers and service branches during site activities, as well as ongoing training and support. The CTO Technical Support position reports to the regional CTO Technical Support team. This position will require extensive domestic travel, with possibility of some international travel.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist and perform start-up and commissioning activities. Including field wiring and proper set-up of all required devices on Overhead Travelling Cranes.
  • Provide phone support to service and subcontractor resources during installation, startup, commissioning and warranty activities as needed.
  • Provide onsite startup, commissioning and warranty support in particularly advanced, challenging or complex situations; includes oversite of other resources as well as hands on completion of work
  • Provide training to installation subcontractors and service branches as requested
  • Assist with training and troubleshooting various electrical and mechanical topics with installation subcontractors or service technicians.
  • Support warranty group in troubleshooting, determination of root cause and finding resolution to technical warranty events
  • Be trained and act as regional expert on new products and features
  • Travel up to 80% of the time
