HR Generalist

Human Resources Generalist

Reporting to a Human Resources Manager, the HR Generalist will support divisions within the Company. The HR Generalist will be tasked with providing support and guidance on the day-to-day operations ensuring the efficient delivery of all HR Services. The role will actively participate in all HR activities, cycles, and processes.

Job Responsibilities:
Providing general human resources services to the respective businesses area managers and employee population by answering HR related inquiries.


Ensure the uniform and consistent application of company policies and administering effective human relations programs that support the company’s corporate objectives.


Participate in various Human Resources initiatives including policy development, job descriptions maintenance, compensation, performance management, employee relations, employment equity and metrics reporting.


Support Managers and employees to ensure all absences, vacation entitlements, sick days, leave of absences are being updated into the system for payroll purposes and tracking.


Offer Managers coaching and support to resolve performance and employee relations concerns.


Coordination and maintenance of employee data and files.


Ensure compliance with Employment Standards act and other regulations.


Updates employee data in People Center and ADP, work closely with payroll administer and supervise worker’s compensation & employee disability claims to ensure that all necessary forms and documentation are completed for any worker’s compensation claims, or short term or long-term disability claims.


Ensure that all parties are kept informed, and that proper follow up is conducted, working with managers on the employees’ early & safe return to work.


Report monthly on the progress of HR activities, i.e., Head Count Report, Training Days Report, Turnover Report & TPP Completion Report.


Various other duties and special projects as assigned.

 

Qualifications: A college degree/diploma/certificate in Human Resources is required. Three to five years of human resources experience. Related experience may be considered. Must have excellent interpersonal skills, be well organized, prioritize and capable of handling a busy workload with multiple tasks. Competent skills in Microsoft Office are required. Experience with an HRIS considered an asset.
