Our Digital Experience Platform team is now looking for a Test Engineer to join our group of Development specialists in the Digital Center of Excellence.  


You will work in a cross-functional team which develops new Konecranes digital services and solutions. You will participate in all stages of software development and operational process, specifically: service concepting, MVP development, test automation development, security, and operations.


Your main responsibilities are test planning, complementing the DevOps environment through test automation development and software testing around customer-facing digital solutions. These solutions incorporate various data sources: Machine IoT data, Field services data, CRM data, ML algorithms etc. through modern API interfaces. As part of a feature team, you will participate in feature team daily practices and be involved in multiple development projects with cross-team dependencies. It is important that you understand and translate business requirements into test automation tasks.


Your key tasks and responsibilities

  • Development of Test plans for the upcoming features and ensuring adherence to it
  • Design the tests and test cases with approaches like behaviour-driven development (BDD) and Data-Driven testing
  • Create test automation with different tools like Robot framework and Postman
  • Integrate testing to be part of the deployment pipeline
  • Document and maintain test cases by using the test management system
  • Communicate effectively and professionally in all forms of communication with internal and external customers
  • Two-way stakeholder communication with product owners for development transparency and meeting stakeholder expectations
  • Participating in Portfolio/Backlog Management and backlog grooming, sprint planning and demos, as well as in testing practices improvement projects

The Digital Experience Platform is part of the larger Digital Center of Excellence (Digital CoE) unit, responsible for the development and delivery of Konecranes industrial internet platform, content delivery platform, data science solutions, RPA solutions as well as digital solutions that serve both our customers and business processes. Konecranes Industrial Internet connects, gathers, analyses, and presents data from Konecranes-built equipment and the global field service IT system. Our Digital solutions include a multitude of web and mobile applications all built on the latest software engineering solutions and address the key needs of our customers and businesses.

What you should bring

  • Suitable education, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree level preferably in computer science
  • Experience in testing in agile development
  • Experience with some of the Testing and Test management technologies: Adaptavist/Zephyr, Robot Framework, Selenium, Zed Attack Proxy, Browser stack, JMeter
  • Experience of implementing automation for web applications/services or mobile native application
  • Experience with DevOps processes and tools in development environments e.g. GIT, Jenkins
  • API testing using Postman or similar tools
  • Good understanding of the testing practices: TDD, BDD, Data-Driven testing
  • Basic understanding of Security Testing (active and passive)
  • Knowledge of basic testing principles and experience in software testing and creating test automation.


You should also have an agile mindset, and strong problem-solving and decision-making skills while using good judgment and willingness to learn. Previous experience as a Test Engineer will be considered as an advantage as well as quality certificates like ISTQB.
