Service Engineer

We are recruiting an electrically qualified Service Technician to be based in the north west of the UK.

 

This role reports to the Operations Manager.

 

The role of a Service Technician is within the department of Industrial Service, offering maintenance and service solutions for all crane brands. Your role will involve the maintenance, repair and upgrade of our customers' lifting equipment. The work we offer is varied and two days are never the same. You might be interested to learn that we are the original service provider for both Konecranes, Demag and Morris equipment.

 

This role is based on a 39-hour week Mon-Fri (days) with ample opportunity for generous paid overtime, paid travel time is also included.

 

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • You will perform preventative maintenance and repairs on electric overhead travelling cranes
  • Trouble- shooting equipment breakdowns.
  • Consult with customers on repair and safety related issues.
  • Complete appropriate documentation through your mobile device.

 

What we are looking for in you:

  • We ask that you are apprentice-trained or equivalent and conversant with electrical engineering disciplines.
  • Mechanical knowledge
  • Experience of maintaining/repairing cranes or industrial equipment as a minimum
  • Health & Safety awareness
  • Be personable as there is regular customer contact
  • You will be asked to climb a ladder and able to work at heights
  • Willingness to work extra hours – this attracts paid overtime - we pay double time at the weekend!
  • Hold a current driving licence
  • Willingness to work on the On-Call Rota with enhanced premium
