POSITION TITLE: Expedited Parts Analyst

 

REPORTS TO: Purchasing Manager

 

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Konecranes has an opening for an Expedited Parts Analyst to manage the Expedited Parts (VIP) program. 

This position will project manage the Region Americas Parts unit’s “VIP Program” which focuses on fulfilling emergency customer orders. This position is approximately 75% tactical and 25% strategic.  

  • Work with external suppliers and internal departments to quote expedited lead times to customers.
  • Follow up on all aspects of the order to ensure 100% on-time delivery. 
  • Communicate order status with internal sales teams and customers directly.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to improve the flow of ‘VIP’ orders and shorten response time.
  • Submit monthly reports detailing key order metrics.
  • Ability to interpret component drawings and partner with engineering on make vs buy decisions
  • Identify and qualify new vendors to source various components
  • Create Purchase Orders and maintain pricing and other purchasing data in SAP.
  • Work with suppliers to resolve non-conformance products
  • Approve invoices for payment, and reconcile receipt and invoice discrepancies.
  • Work with Corporate Purchasing to identify and best utilize a network of preferred suppliers.
  • Identify and implement cost saving initiatives.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of suppliers in terms of (1) pricing and cost reductions, (2) on time delivery performance, and (3) consistent quality.
  • Work with customer service, and other internal groups to determine the best methods of supporting customers.
  • Some travel may be required to visit suppliers; other Konecranes locations as well as corporate headquarters for training.  Travel can be up to 15%.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred in the areas of Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering or related discipline.  Knowledge of SAP, manufacturing processes, and technical drawings is preferred.
