The Product Manager is responsible for developing our market base for the designated product line and supporting frontline sales in our service organization. The primary focus of the Product Manager will be to become established as the designated product technical and market expert and support business development in targeted market areas as directed by the Parts Manager and Frontline Service.

Focus area will be one of the following: trolley and bridge wheels, rebuild, or reverse engineering.

The product manager will establish market pricing, work in internal quotation systems and work with manufacturing to ensure quality and timeliness. The product manager will support our districts on sales calls providing product expertise and solutions to end user customers so that service can provide parts/service packages.

  • Through market research, industry expertise and analysis develop creative and cost effective solutions for customer needs while maintaining market area profit margin objectives.
  • Focus on growth through Sales strategies (Pricing, stock levels vs. made-to-order, customer inventory inspections, etc.)
  • Deliver our customers with the best experience possible while meeting and exceeding established goals.
  • Assist the Region Americas service sales team to ensure that product sales and machine cell time are maximized.
  • Work with internal customer service and engineering group to return the quotations to customers in a timely manner as established by the Parts Manager. Must work within SAP and Efecte to maintain transparent workflow.
  • Responsible for meeting minimum sales quotas established and monitoring this progress monthly.
  • Monthly Orders and Sales Logs: A record of all quotations submitted by the sales person must be submitted prior to month end closing to the Parts Manager.
  • Maintain surveillance over Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) such as punctuality on quotes and deliveries, response time and Contribution Margins.
  • Service Sales: Assist as needed in the price estimates and proposals for designated products installed by our service organization using the established systems, guidelines within Crane Pro Parts.
  • Target Account Sales: A list of target accounts will be provided by the Parts Manager and District Sales Manager to make team sales calls and visits to this list in pursuit of new business opportunities. The Product Manager will support our service organization as needed to present Crane Pro Parts capabilities at the highest level of professionalism. Post trip call reports and logs required.

In addition to the designated product, the Product Manager will occasionally back team members in other product line areas as needed.


EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred however extensive experience and training will be considered in lieu of a degree.


EXPERIENCE: Past work experience with technical and service related sales.


OTHER REQUIREMENTS: 30% to 50% travel required within region Americas. Must have and maintain a good driving record. Must have basic understanding of mechanical and electrical principles and be willing to work hands on with the service personnel occasionally. Good verbal, written, analytical and computer skills are required. Must possess a team player work ethic.
