Due to a recent re-structure within the business area of Industrial Service, we are recruiting a Technical Co-ordinator to join our team on a full time, permanent basis.

Working in close collaboration with the scheduler, the Technical Coordinator is responsible for ensuring our Service Technicians have the correct materials, equipment and instructions they need in order to successfully repair or upgrade customers equipment and are able to carry out the work safely prior to them attending site.

 

Main responsibilities will include:

 

  • Review Service Requests and related paperwork for accurate descriptions, reviewing estimated hours/costs to ensure they are achievable, review correct asset details, consulting with Operations Manager or Field Supervisor as needed.
  • Review & confirm correct new purchase order requisitions (POR) & create as needed POR for parts and materials. Submit POR requisition in Siebel (our in-house system) for processing in SAP.
  • Ensure all pertinent documentation is attached to the service request in Siebel.
  • Update start and completion dates in Siebel based on anticipated delivery of materials.
  • Proactively monitor the delivery of materials, & update internal stakeholders as needed & goods receipt when not automatically done by the system.
  • Responsible for ensuring the technical planning of the work enables successful delivery in achieving estimated sales CMII%. Regular review with the Scheduler based on Period Performance Report.
  • Proactive participation within the regular WIP meetings & implementation of actions.
  • Ensure adherence to company warranty processes ensuring timely & cost-effective solutions.
  • Ensure that all work planning adheres to our Life Saving Behaviours & customers specific site safety instructions, including written safety documentation.
  • Remote support to Field Operatives in relation to the planned work activities.
     

 

What we are looking for in you:

 

  • Applicable technical qualification in electrical/mechanical or higher engineering qualification
  • Experience in the crane industry preferred.
  • Highly customer oriented with demonstratable excellence in communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building and maintaining strong relationships both with customers and colleagues.
  • Safety first attitude with a broad understanding of Health & Safety legislation.
  • Broad Understanding of relevant regulations and standards related to the Lifting/Crane industry.
  • In-depth technical knowledge and understanding of cranes & hoists.
  • Understanding profit and loss
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task, whilst maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Possess a good level of PC literacy.

 

We are looking for candidates from an engineering background, perhaps being previously in a practical role and looking to retain those skills being more office-based with regular hours. For us having an engineering background will give a greater appreciation for what's required in the field prior to attending a service/maintenance-related call.
