We are recruiting a Project Engineer to join the team on a full-time, permanent basis.

 

The role of the Project Engineer is to work within the Project Team, delivering Modernisations, retrofits, and Installations, coordinating activities, resources and tasks related to a specific project. They must ensure job costs are kept within quoted parameters and provide progress reports to the Project Manager.

 

The role is based in Scotland and will require the successful candidate to be willing to travel and stay overnight as and when the project requires this (accommodation and subsistence will be provided).

 

This role would ideally suit an electrically or mechanically qualified engineer who is looking to further their career within a project environment.

 

You will report to the Project Manager- UK North.

 

You will:

 

  • Conduct project-related tasks independently and support the Project Manager in daily tasks, and take responsibility in their absence.
  • Lead sub-projects under the supervision of the Project Manager.
  • Assist in the preparation of Safety Documentation (SSOW, SSA, RAMS, Lift Planning)
  • Ensure the site team has all the necessary resources to enable the project to be carried out successfully.
  • Meet with the project team (Technicians & Field Supervisors), ensuring each member understands their responsibilities and accountabilities.
  • Manage vendor relationships, relaying information between the project management and client.
  • Coordinate queries and escalate points of concern to appropriate stakeholders, monitoring resolution and updating all involved.
  • Development and innovation: Carry out day-to-day project coordination activities and analyse and improve current working methods where possible.

 

What we are looking for from you:

 

Education/Experience

 

  • HNC / ONC Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Involvement in engineering projects
  • IOSH qualified (preferred)
  • Commercial acumen
  • Must be willing and able to travel (sometimes stay overnight) throughout Scotland and the North of the UK on an as-and-when basis.
  • IT skills
