POSITION TITLE: SITE MECHANICAL ASSEMBLER - NUCLEAR

 

REPORTS TO: WAYNE MADDOX – CONSTRUCTION MANAGER

                          BILL GAMBLE      _ SITE SUPERINTENDENT

 

BUSINESS UNIT: KONECRANE NUCLEAR EQUIPMENT AND SERVICES, LLC

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work alongside craft labor crews to complete task at hand, identify problems and solutions.  Ability to alternative tasks to maintain efficiency and resolve delays in construction.  Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality requirements and customer specifications
  • Receive materials arriving on the site to eliminate lost or stolen tools and materials.  Unload materials from trucks and place in staging areas and maintain inventory on materials. Package materials. For shipments to customer site.
  • Read, interpret and follow engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products
  • Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes
  • Identify material defects and completed appropriate documentation when defects are identified
  • Organize tools, container to ensure proper site safety and efficiency.
  • Assist in rigging activities.
  • Maintain strong communication with the project team and Construction Manager / Site superintendent, in accordance with established practices.
  • Maintain all company issued equipment, vehicle (if applicable) and assets in a safe and proper working order. Operate tools, equipment and vehicles in a safe and responsible manner. Notify supervisor of any deficiencies for resolution.
  • Follow all established quality standards, safety rules and procedures established by Konecranes Nuclear Equipment and Services and have a strong commitment to safety
  • Participate in monthly safety meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned by Construction Manager.

 

 

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have strong mechanical aptitude and experience in welding and fabrication of large assemblies according to AWS D1.1 (structural welding code) and D14.1 (Material Handling Equipment code)
  • Must have and maintain a good driving record, including a valid driver's license.
  • Must be willing and able to work at elevations
  • Must be able to work varied overtime and be able to travel and work away from home for extended periods of time as required by your Manager
  • Must be team oriented, solutions driven, customer focused and a self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Able to read mechanical drawings and BOM’s.
  • Read, understand and apply the contents of all OSHA, ANSI, CMAA, ASME, NOG and other codes or regulations pertaining to our industry. Refresh and update knowledge periodically.
  • Possibility to expand role during non-construction windows to include other tasks as deemed necessary by the Construction Manager

 

EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent required. An Associate's degree in Industrial Electrical/Mechanical Technology or related field or equivalent vocational/technical training and experience is a plus.

 

 

EXPERIENCE: Five (5) to ten (10) years’ experience in the assembly of material handling equipment.

 

TRAVEL: Overnight and extended travel to construction or customer locations may be required.  Expected travel to be 10-20%
