We are the global leader of Waste to Energy cranes and control equipment. Because of the growth of this sector over the last 5 years and future orders within the UK's South region, we are looking to recruit a dedicated team of Service Technicians to maintain our customers WTE equipment within the region and keep it operating at the optimum level, with minimum downtime.
You will be involved in the repair and service of our WTE customers' lifting equipment, service inspection contracts, refurbishment, and modernisation projects.
You will report to the Operations Manager
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on specialist WTE cranes at our customer locations across the southern region.
- Trouble- shooting equipment malfunctions and breakdowns.
- Consult with customers on repair and safety related issues.
- Generate sales leads during service call.
- Complete appropriate documentation.
Requirements:
- You will be apprentice-trained or equivalent and conversant with electrical engineering disciplines
- Engineering experience: Electrical: 415v ac 3 phase motor contactor control circuits both squirrel cage and wound rotor. An understanding of 110/48 volt relay and contactor circuits. Some frequency speed control device experience. Mechanical: Medium to large drive couplings, brakes and reduction gearboxes.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety
- Experience with overhead cranes and hoists is essential, full product training will be given along with WTE crane specific training.
- Scheduled weekend working will attract enhanced premiums - we pay double time at the weekend
- Work one weekend in every month.
- Willingness to work away from home. (Approx. 1 week per month), accommodation and subsistence is provided
