Right now, we are recruiting a HSEQ Intern to join our team based in Linbro Business Park, South Africa, on a full time, fixed-term basis. As our HSEQ Intern you will be responsible to assist site operations, risk management and administer site specific HSE arrangements.

 

Your key responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain the HSE site files based to the client requirements
  • Support and coordinate all related HSE functions at customer site
  • Ensure work areas are assessed for HSE hazards and work is performed in acceptable safety principles
  • Assist in preparation of internal audits and issuing of audit reports, noting non conformances and verify effective corrective actions through ARMOR HSE System
  • Follow up on non-conformances, including corrective and preventative actions
  • Supporting incident investigations, recording and analysis of OHS and Environmental corrective actions, non-conformances, near misses and safety observations through ARMOR HSE System
  • Assess/ evaluate contractors and suppliers to establish compliance to HSE policies and legal requirements
  • Ensure that all contractors comply with HSE policies and procedures
  • Participate in HSE meetings and management reviews
  • Communicate all local, regional and global safety shares and information in a timely fashion
  • Support the Country HSEQ Manager with periodic emergency response exercises, maintain records and provide recommendations for emergency response improvements

What should you bring?

Ideally, we are looking for candidates who have the following skills and attributes:

 

Qualification/Education: -

  • Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Safety management, or equivalent qualification e.g NEBOSH Diploma (non-negotiable)
  • SAMTRAC / HIRA / FPP & Incident Investigation formal training will be an added advantage
  • Formal training by a recognized body on implementation of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO45001 management system standards is an advantage

 

Skills & Knowledge: -

 

  • Basic understanding of the OHS Act and MHS Act
  • Working knowledge of ISO standards
  • Excellent level of computer literacy on complete Microsoft Office (non-negotiable)
  • Valid driver’s license is required (non-negotiable)
  • Highly effective verbal communication skills, including influencing without depending on positional authority
  • Very good written communication skills; clear expression of ideas or information
  • Good inter-personal skills; able to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders, to accomplish organisational goals and identify and resolve problems
