Our Port Cranes unit is looking for a Control and Instruments Engineer to join our Technology Core team. This team plays an important part in engineering, R&D, and product management. Our goal is to understand the business needs, standardize our solutions and invite the business to use them. Your role will involve developing, productizing, and maintaining our pre-engineered functionalities.

 

Your key responsibilities:

  • Working on cabin and electrical room structures and equipment, and a variety of components and instrumentation, such as lighting, radio controllers, camera systems.
  • Communicating and cooperating with our internal and external stakeholders (subcontractors, and customers' engineering departments) to ensure the best solutions.
  • Managing various R&D tasks, including selecting and dimensioning of the used components, technology, and carrying out necessary calculations.
  •  Ensuring that selected solutions are aligned with local requirements, including risk assessments.
  • Documenting your tasks and uploading the documentation to our PLM system.
  • Ensuring that project related targets (schedules, planned engineering hours, costs, quality) are met and reporting about the status of projects to Engineering and Project Managers.

 

The role is based in Finland, Hyvinkää – but it goes without saying that hybrid work type is a part of our modern ways of working.
 

What should you bring?
•   Few years of work experience in the related field. Experience within the crane industry would be an asset.
•    University degree in related field (e.g. mechanical /electrical / automation engineering).
•    Solid knowledge of statutory framework, i.e. valid standards and regulations.
•    Some experience in project management is also considered a positive addition.
•    Fluent English language, both spoken and written. Other languages are beneficial.
