Business Unit Port Services, a critical part of Business Area Port Solutions, is a known and trusted service partner within port industry. Port Services offers a wide range of services both internally and externally. Technical Support team within Port Services provides global support to internal frontline units as well as directly to customers for complex retrofits and modernizations requiring technical expertise.

 

To further strengthen our technical support capacity, we are now seeking to hire a Mechanical Engineer who will take responsibility for supporting our global delivery projects with the expertise in mechanical engineering and design. In this role you will co-operate closely with both internal and external stakeholders. 

 

Your key responsibilities:

  • Offer engineering for global Port Services retrofit and modernization projects
  • Detailed mechanical design related to global delivery projects
  • Maintain and continuously develop partnership with the network of our subcontractors
  • Provide site supervision support for global delivery projects
  • Contribute to crane inspections
  • Consulting and training stakeholders

What should you bring?

For this role we are looking for a motivated person who has a degree in mechanical engineering (bachelor or master level) and a proven track record of delivering mechanical designs, preferably in a heavy industry context. We expect that you have experience with technical drawings as well as with designing in CAD environment (e.g. AutoCAD, Vertex, Inventor etc.). Knowledge of lifting equipment and technology and background from lifting or machinery industry is highly beneficial.

 

To succeed in this role, you would also need have strong teamworking and social skills. Fluency in both spoken and written English skills is a must, other language skills are beneficial.

 

This role requires business travel occasionally.
