Lead Electrical Application Engineer

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: This position is responsible to facilitate best practices and standards for electrical applications engineering, application specialist engineering, electrical product engineering and the motor support teams for Region Americas. Collaborate and mentor application staff to advance Konecranes solutions and products working in conjunction with our modernization application engineers and district business units. Evaluate inquiry, commercial or product risk assessment and escalate discussion of potential risk with sales and management prior to solution proposal.

     

Specific duties include but are not limited to: Meet bi-weekly to review inquiry and quote log with the electrical product engineers, electrical application engineers, electrical application specialists and the motor support specialistsMonitor and provide support for the electrical product engineers, electrical application engineers, electrical application specialists and the motor support specialists. Support to include conflict resolution both internal and external.  Manage inquiry load to ensure application requirements are met to continue the growth of the business unit. Create solutions and provide proposals for your designated area. Establish, measure, and facilitate the electrical application mentoring program. Consult with sales engineers to assist for consultative technical presentations and proposals that explain the technical aspects of our products and the benefit for our customer.

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred and/or equivalent experience in the crane industry to be capable to suggest, design and evaluate solutions to customer’s issues on process equipment. 

 

 

EXPERIENCE: A minimum of five years of technical expertise for electrical, mechanical, and field installations relating to the overhead crane industry. A qualified candidate should be able to process technical information and provide technical instructions. Ability to read mechanical and electrical prints. Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, Siebel CRM and other Konecranes Engineering software. Verbal and written communication plays a key role in this position. Must have the aptitude to learn at fast pace.

 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to travel up to 30%. Must be willing and able to work off the ground often at heights. Must show ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.  Must show commitment to safety.
