 JOB DESCRIPTION: MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

PRIMARY FUNCTION responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.


FACILITIES:  Encompasses all maintenance activities for all Konecranes Springfield campuses. 

     

Starting Pay range: 18-23 an hour

 

PRIMARY RESONSIBILTIES: 


•    Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs of production machines, overhead crane systems, paint booth equipment, test equipment, hydraulic equipment, air compressors, etc.; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications.
•    Replaces defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools.
•    Make adjustments of functional parts of devices, equipment and control instruments to comply with specifications and tolerances.
•    Controls downtime by working with production management to plan and schedule routine preventive maintenance.
•    Fabricates repair parts by using in-house equipment and hand tools.
•    Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
•    Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
•    Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
•    Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
•    Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
•    Respond to emergency maintenance requests as required to support multi-shift operations.

•    Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
•    Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
•    Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
•    Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
•    Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
•    Assist sub-contractors as needed.
•    Maintain a professional courteous manner with all vendors, contractors, and Co-workers.

Requirements:

•    An AA degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance plus, 5 years of manufacturing maintenance experience, or equivalent experience; strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, electronic and electrical skills. electrical certification and/or                   licensing preferred.

•    Strong technical capacity

•    Basic understanding of plumbing and HVAC knowledge.

•    Extensive background in tracing electrical circuits.

•    Ability to read and interrupt mechanical and electrical drawings and blue prints.

•    Strong technical capacity

•    Strong communication skills.

•    Ability to accurately quote time and material for repairs and projects.

•    Proactive self-starter, initiative, result driven, ethical conduct.

•    Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

•    Flexible schedule as required, will be required to alter work schedule and respond to equipment breakdown on a 24-hour basis.

•    Maintain a professional courteous manner with all vendors, contractors, and Co-workers.

•    Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, and climb for potentially long periods; as well as lifting up to 75 lbs.
